Ten artists’ work will be featured at the Smithfield Public Art Walk. The upcoming art walk in Birmingham will feature murals, art installations, sidewalk poetry and more, promising a memorable day of excitement for attendees.
The F.I.L.E.S. Arts Project (TFAP) Founder, Kat Files, will curate 2 experiences: - TFAP Community Movement Experience @ 1pm (Fitness Center North: 421 Reverend Abraham Woods Jr Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35204) | Pre-register: HERE - TFAP Dance finale curated by Alvin Ailey/Fordham University and Alabama School of Fine Arts Alumnae @ 3pm (Main stage in front of A.H. Parker High School). The Smithfield Public Art Walk, taking place on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., will take place along Rev. Abraham Woods Jr. Boulevard and 5th Street North. The event is FREE and open to the public. |

Kat Files & Royce files collaborate with
the alabama school of fine arts (asfa) on their 2018 fall repertory
Kat Files & Royce Files, co-founders of The F.I.L.E.S. Arts Project (TFAP), will perform on the Alabama School of Fine Arts (ASFA) Department of Dance Fall Repertory at The Dorothy Jemison Day Theater. The performances will be held, Friday-Saturday, November 9-10, 2018 at 7pm and Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2:30pm. Tickets are $10 or $5 for students. Kat Files, an ASFA dance alum, graduate of Fordham University/The Ailey School has been joined by her brother, Royce Files, a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate in Saxophone at The University of Southern California (USC). Royce will perform Caprice en forme de Valse (Paul Bonneau 1918-1995) with Kat performing dance work titled "Interplay," by noted choreographer Germaul Barnes. The piece was most recently performed on Royce Files’, Doctor of Musical Arts Recital, in Newman Recital Hall at USC.
